Stanford Keys to Victory

The Bryce Love Show: It was definitely unexpected to see Love corralled by the San Diego State defense with just 29 yards rushing. As stated earlier, his Heisman campaign season in 2017 was special in its own right as he averaged 162.9 yards per game on his way to his over 2,000 yards rushing.

Love had his way against USC in both games last season with 160 yards in the first contest and 125 in the conference title game. Their chances of defeating USC resides with a productive run game powered by Love.

Active Stanford Front Seven: The front seven of the Stanford defense was considered the “weak link” of the defense this season with only two returning starters amongst the group. The defense is relying on freshman and sophomores up front with true freshman Thomas Booker posting a sack and sophomore Jovan Swann posting a sack and a half.

There is plenty of experience on the offensive line for USC so the youngsters will have to grow up quickly to provide pressure on Daniels and the USC backfield.
