An early season Pac-12 showdown takes place as the USC Trojans visit Palo Alto to face Stanford. Here is the complete preview and prediction for this important conference matchup on Saturday night.

Quietly, this has become a fairly contested rivalry in recent seasons believe it or not.

In a series that Southern Cal still has a strong grasp of with a 61-32-3 record, Stanford has managed to win eight of the past 15 matchups between the two programs since 2005. During that time period, Stanford has managed two separate win streaks over USC of four (2009-12) and three (2015-16).

The last time these two teams tussled was this past December in the Pac-12 Championship game in which USC won 31-28 behind 325 yards and two touchdowns from former starting quarterback Sam Darnold.

Now the Trojans have a young buck as the new starter at quarterback and his future is about as bright as a summer day in Los Angeles. For Stanford, their backfield possesses a possible Heisman candidate who looks to get on track this season with a big performance against a suspect USC run defense.

Here’s the USC vs Stanford stream information so you don’t have to go to California to watch.
