Panthers to watch

AJ Davis

Sophomore AJ Davis got 35% of the Panthers carries last week against Albany and averaged 3.5 yards per attempt. He also picked up two catches as a receiver for 19 yards, finishing with a team-high 15 plays from scrimmage. After being used sparingly as a freshman, Davis has already set career highs this season, and stands to be one of the Panthers biggest contributors on offense going forward.

Keyshon Camp

Sophomore Keyshon Camp dominated against Albany with two sacks and three tackles. The interior of the Nittany Lion’s offensive line has some weak spots with Michal Menet coming off his first start at center last week. James Franklin highlighted “growing pains” for the redshirt sophomore, but noted there weren’t any bad snaps. Another redshirt sophomore Connor McGovern is a swing lineman who has impressed early in his career and could be a prospect to watch for in the future.

Camp will have a great opportunity to work against some young offensive linemen in this game and disrupt the quarterback.

Dane Jackson

Franklin highlighted Jackson as a player to watch in his most recent press conference. Jackson is dealing with an undisclosed injury, but Franklin alluded to him returning this weekend.

After losing Jordan Whitehead and Avonte Maddox to the NFL Jackson stands to be the Panthers top corner. Jackson deflected nine passes last year as a redshirt sophomore adding two interceptions and 41 tackles.
