The Worst Trade For Every NFL Team In History

Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys have a history of making ill-advised trades for wide receivers. Most will declare the Roy Williams one was the absolute worst. There’s no question it was bad, but it doesn’t compare to what they gave up for Joey Galloway in 2000. This was really the first trade the team made that indicated the team had lost its magic from the Jimmy Johnson years.
Going into that season, Galloway was 29-year old. He wasn’t old but his prime years were waning. Even more baffling was he’d missed eight games the previous season over a contract dispute. Did that stop Jones from getting his fancy new toy? Of course not. Dallas handed the Seattle Seahawks not one but two 1st round draft picks for the receiver.
What happens? He tears his ACL in the first game and misses the year. Galloway would play just four years with the Cowboys, amassing 2,341 yards and 12 touchdowns. The two picks they gave up to get him? They would turn into running back Shaun Alexander (future MVP) and edge rusher Andre Carter (future Pro Bowler). That’s a bad trade.
