Two storied programs meet in a historic venue to kick off the 2018 college football season.

Everyone has the appreciate the approach that college football has taken as a whole in recent seasons with a number of programs looking to beef up their non-conference slate with season opening contests against prime competition.

The premier game of the 2018 opening weekend pits two historic football programs looking to build off successful albeit underwhelming seasons.

For the Wolverines of Michigan, there is a slight buzz around the team thanks to a new transfer quarterback that is easily the best prospect the team has had in the past few seasons. Interestingly, the head ball coach is hearing a few moans and groans from the fan base and boosters. While he has been winning, it has not necessarily been up to the Michigan standardization.

Notre Dame meanwhile is looking to record back-to-back double-digit win seasons for the first time since the beginning of the Clinton Administration. There is plenty of talent to do so including the team’s leading passer and seven of the team’s top ten tacklers from last season. Time to dissect this juicy matchup that may have College Football Playoff implications.
