IN:  Daniel Brown (TE)

The Bears are deep at tight end and most likely want to keep it that way. They already have three locked in with Trey Burton, Adam Shaheen, and Dion Sims. They’re trying to figure out if they want a fourth. If so, it has to be Daniel Brown. His skill as a pass catcher and experience blocking have shown up consistently in the preseason. Hopefully the shoulder injury he suffered in the finale against Buffalo isn’t too bad because he seems to fit well in that offense. He’s earned a place.

OUT:  Hroniss Grasu (C)

The former 3rd round pick is caught in an unwinnable position. The Bears seem set at center. Not only do they have Cody Whitehair starting, but now 2nd round pick James Daniels backing him up. That’s in addition to veteran guard Eric Kush who has starting experience there as well. Grasu is a serviceable player but he’s not a versatile one. His position is center. He’s not strong enough to play guard or big enough to play tackle. That puts the squeeze on any likelihood he survives another round of cuts.
