Chicago Bears

. LB. Stanford. Chris Draft . 6. player. 57

The Chicago Bears are another team that has been diligent about not letting good players get away when they find them. Their biggest misfire of note has to be linebacker Chris Draft. They drafted him in the 6th round in 1998. Unfortunately, he was a middle linebacker, and during that time the Bears already had established veteran Barry Minter at that position.

So after one season, he was cut. He had a one-year stint in Philadelphia before signing in Atlanta where he finally got a chance to start. While he was never a star, Draft became a quality defender for them between 2001 and 2004 during which they made the playoffs twice and reached an NFC championship. The Bears didn’t miss him though. A year after he left they drafted Brian Urlacher.
