San Francisco 49ers

CB. Oklahoma State. R.W. McQuarters . 28. player. 42.

The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the better drafting teams since the late 1970s. During that span they have a remarkable record of not letting good players escape their notice at until after four years on the team. That’s why a decent but not overly remarkable talent like R.W. McQuarters is the choice for this spot.

Now that’s not entirely fair. McQuarters was a good player who offered a lot of value on special teams and steadiness on defense. The 49ers never took full advantage of this, cutting him loose after just two seasons. He went on to Chicago where he became a valued member of the Bears for several seasons, helping them to shock his former team in a 2001 instant classic.
