The Worst Cuts All 32 NFL Teams Have Ever Made

Minnesota Vikings
If ever there was a quarterback that is followed by what-ifs, it has to be Steve Bono. It seemed like any time he got an opportunity to actually play, he would deliver a strong showing. The Minnesota Vikings, the team who drafted him in the 6th round in 1985, never bothered. He threw 11 total passes for them in two seasons before they sent him on his way in 1987.
Bono went to Pittsburgh for a year before settling in as a backup with the 49ers. There he gave the first glimpse of what the Vikings might have missed out on. In 1991 he replaced an injured Joe Montana and Steve Young, going 5-1 as a starter while throwing 11 touchdowns to just four interceptions. A few years later the Kansas City Chiefs picked him up and finally he was given a chance to start in 1995.
He made the Pro Bowl that year. In two seasons running the Chiefs offense, he went 21-8. It’s fair to wonder what might’ve happen had Minnesota explored what they had back then. Especially when quarterback play was what held them out of a Super Bowl in the late 1980s.
