Los Angeles Rams

51. . DT. Hawaii. Maa Tanuvasa . 18. player

To their credit, the Los Angeles Rams have historically done a good job of not letting high-quality players slip through their fingers. No future Pro Bowlers they drafted were prematurely cut. However, no team is immune to making such mistakes. The Rams didn’t know what they had in 8th round pick Maa Tanuvasa. Samoan players didn’t yet have the reputation they do today.

He was cut as a rookie in 1993. After a brief stint in Pittsburgh, the Denver Broncos came calling in 1995. Los Angeles then watched as they realized their mistake. Over the next four seasons, Tanuvasa collected 29 sacks with the Broncos defense, becoming a fixture in the middle during their two Super Bowl championship runs.
