Green Bay Packers

49. . TE. Rutgers. Clark Harris . 12. player

The Green Bay Packers have traditionally built through the draft, so it’s rare for them to unload good players without at least giving them a chance. Clark Harris is a rare exception. They drafted him in the 7th round hoping they got a nice project at tight end who could become a future weapon for Aaron Rodgers who was about to take over the starting job.

The one thing they neglected to do was truly test him as a long snapper. Something else he did in college. If they had, they might’ve hit the brakes. Harris bounced around practice squads for the next couple years until he landed with the Bengals who immediately saw his skill in that area. He became their starting snapper in 2009 and has held the job ever since, reaching his first Pro Bowl in 2017.
