#4 Trayvon Mullen (Clemson)

As the cousin of former Louisville and current Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Trayvon Mullen’s athleticism is, as expected, the first thing that jumps out on tape. Take a look at this play for example, from the South Carolina game. Despite giving up a 10-yard cushion, Mullen utilizes very good acceleration to blow up the screen pass in the backfield and prevent the back from gaining any yardage after the catch.

Mullen is listed at 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, but looks closer to 180 or 185. He’s very lean and will have his frame questioned by some as to whether or not he can survive a 16-game regular season. He’s remained healthy thus far and if he can do so again in 2018, he should continue to rise up the draft boards. Despite his lean frame, the junior isn’t afraid to lay a helmet on the ball carrier and had plenty of opportunities to do so. He displays good anticipation to go along with elite athleticism which allows him to be the first defender on the scene in the open field.

Mullen has recorded three interceptions in his Clemson career, all of which came in 2017. With the Tigers once again expected to be in the playoff hunt, Mullen will have many chances to impress scouts on the big stage in 2018.
