Outside linebacker:  Sam Acho vs. Aaron Lynch, Isaiah Irving, and Kylie Fitts

The Bears have serious concerns about their outside linebacker position. It’s far from ideal. Leonard Floyd, their best pass rusher already has a broken hand. This while they’re still trying to figure out who will start across from him. Veteran Sam Acho has the most experience in this defense. Aaron Lynch was their biggest free agent acquisition. Isaiah Irving and Kylie Fitts are the two youngsters of the group who have the most upside.

Leader:  Acho

He may not be great but Acho has shown he’s at least dependable as a starter. Nobody else has come close to challenging him. Lynch hasn’t even practiced for over a month due to a hamstring injury. Irving and Fitts have flashed as pass rushers who have shown flaws as run defenders thanks in large part to their limited size. Acho was never really challenged, which is both great for him but also a bad look for the position in general.
