Left guard:  James Daniels vs. Eric Kush

The lone offensive line position that is up for grabs is left guard. The Bears have remained adamant that Cody Whitehair is staying at center. Thus far veteran Eric Kush has gotten the starter snaps in preseason. Their rookie 2nd round pick Jameis Daniels has logged time at guard and center with the reserves. Is this how it figures to remain?

Leader:  Kush

The fact that Kush has held onto the job after three preseason games make it fairly clear. His experience playing guard is likely giving the Bears coaches a comfort level. Daniels, despite blocking well in every game he’s played, hasn’t played guard in years. That rust factor and his considerable youth must be making them too uncomfortable at this point.
