2019 NFL Mock Draft: Injuries Already Changing the Outlook
By Erik Lambert
7. New York Giants (via CHI)
Dave Gettleman avoided the quarterback question this year, believing he might be able to squeeze a couple more good years from Eli Manning. His preseason performance, while brief to this point still leaves lingering doubts to that. If the New York Giants leading man flounders again in 2018, it’s clear the team has to get serious about finding a replacement.
So the normally passive Gettleman gets aggressive here by moving up into the top 10 to secure Jarrett Stidham. The Auburn product has a well-rounded skill set with touch passing and the ability to read coverages both pre and post-snap. He’s also an athlete, able to make some things happen with his legs.
