The key to any great 4-3 defense is a strong presence at defensive tackle, particularly when it comes to rushing the passer. Anybody who watched the world champion Eagles last year, like Colts head coach Frank Reich did, saw how devastating Fletcher Cox was in the middle of that front. Ed Oliver has the potential to be that same kind of force. He’s big and strong with enough get-off to create instant problems in the backfield. This is with him being raw in terms of his hand usage. Once he refines that part of his game, he could be almost unblockable.
