Up:  Joel Iyiegbuniwe

It seems like every week another pick from the Bears draft class flashes. First it was Javon Wims. Then it was Bilal Nichols, James Daniels, and Anthony Miller. This is before Roquan Smith has even seen the field yet. One man who seemed determined not to be left out was 4th rounder Joel Iyiegbuniwe. He too was making up for lost time after missing most of training camp with a shoulder issue. It didn’t take long for him to have an impact, making three tackles on defense, one on special teams and knocking down a pass to force a punt.

Down:  Kylie Fitts

The 6th round pick out of Utah got off to a fast start in the Hall of Fame game, but since then Kylie Fitts has begun to show some of the drawbacks that made him a 6th round pick. Among the most prominent is his lack of length and not maintaining his gap discipline. Too often he’s been swallowed up by bigger tackles or allowed containment to break because he’s trying too hard to make a play. These are problems he has to figure out if he wants to see the field in real games anytime soon.
