8. team. 15. . . . New Orleans Saints

New Orleans going into year 13 with Drew Brees, and what a run they’ve had. It’s certainly not over despite Bree’s recent injuries, but right now the Saints look like one of the best offenses in the league.

If Brees is healthy and doesn’t have an issue with his foot again, he’ll be stretching the field with Michael Thomas all season. Cameron Meredith is a low-risk/high-reward addition behind Thomas and Ted Ginn returns for another season with rookie Tre’Quan Smith being helped along.

You can’t forget the running backs either, especially second-year star Alvin Kamara. He’ll get a bulk of the carries to start the season with Mark Ingram suspended, but when Ingram comes back they’ll be the best running back duo in the league.

New Orleans got so much better on defense thanks to Marcus Williams and Marshon Lattimore’s breakout rookie seasons. Patrick Robinson was a solid addition, and hopefully, Vonn Bell develops into a starter behind Kurt Coleman.

I think their first round pick this year, Marcus Davenport, was the worst of the entire draft considering what they gave up in future picks to take a pass rusher I didn’t see much value in. Giving up next year’s first round pick when you have a quarterback who’ll be 40 this year, I thought, was idiotic to say the least on New Orleans part.

Regardless, their front seven will get the job done and hopefully, Davenport develops for them. They’ll need him in a tough division this year and beyond.
