People can argue whether or not the success of Brady is more him or the system of Bill Belichick. There is no such argument when it comes to Peyton Manning. “The Sheriff” was the single-biggest reason his teams were in the Super Bowl picture and it wasn’t even close. The man simply operated on a totally different level than most other quarterbacks. Everything went through him.

His list of accomplishments speaks for itself:

  • 5x MVP
  • 14x Pro Bowler
  • Career NFL passing leader in completions, yards, and touchdowns
  • Single-season NFL passing leader in yards and touchdowns
  • 2x Super Bowl winner (with two different teams)
  • 4 Super Bowl appearances with four different head coaches

He may not have as many rings as other quarterbacks but when you combine everything he’s done together into a package, it’s hard not to state that’s he’s the best who ever did it. The NFL literally sank in ratings the year after he retired. That’s the amount of pull he had with fans. Everybody tuned in to watch him. He was that good and that much fun to watch.
