The pass rush is still a big concern
Don’t be fooled by the eight sacks the Bears defense had in the Hall of Fame game. While it was fun to see, it was against backup offensive linemen seeing their first action of the year. Not to mention future backup quarterbacks as well. The moment the defense ran into a team with solid, experienced blockers like the Bengals the results were not as ideal.
Leonard Floyd was excellent, as should be expected. Outside of him though the edge rush was notoriously quiet. Kylie Fitts was almost invisible all night as were other reserves. Aaron Lynch and Isaiah Irving didn’t even make the trip due to hamstring and ankle injuries. Rest assured the preseason has revealed their biggest concern is still very real.
