Chicago Bears Updated Stock Report: Center Getting Interesting
By Erik Lambert
Down: Kevin White (WR)
The Bears have talked Kevin White up big this offseason and he’s actually had a good training camp. Sadly that still isn’t translating to performance on the field. He had a chance for a big 3rd down conversion on the first drive of the game and had an ugly drop instead. He was bailed out by a roughing the passer penalty but it was another reminder of how unreliable he is as a pass catcher. He should still make the team but his future in Chicago continues to look bleak.
Up: Adam Shaheen (TE)
There must be something about playing in Cincinnati because for the second-straight time Adam Shaheen was almost unstoppable. His only action came on one drive in the first half and he gashed the Bengals 53 yards on three catches. It was a firm reminder that he was in no way bowing to this idea that Trey Burton should be the featured tight end in the Bears offense. He has plenty of ability in that department and this performance proved it.
