Before the 2018 college football season kicks off, here are the top non-conference games of the upcoming campaign.

The non-conference element of the college football season as taken on a brand new outlook over the last number of seasons. This past season, the opening weekend gave the college football forefront contests such as Florida/Michigan, Florida State/Alabama, West Virginia/Virginia Tech, and Tennessee/Georgia Tech.

A couple of seasons ago, we were treated with the opening gems such as Clemson’s nail-biter on the road against Auburn, Texas overtime win at home against Notre Dame, and Wisconsin’s upset of LSU at Lambeau Field.

Bottom line, non-conference games are now the focus of a lot of programs as they build their future schedules with hopes of getting a few polished wins before conference games are underway. Ahead of my countdown however of the top five non-conference contests are the one that just missed the list.
