Down:  Bennie Fowler

When you’re roster spot is anything but secure, the last thing you can afford during games is to make costly mistakes. Bennie Fowler failed to heed this advice against Baltimore. While his special teams play wasn’t bad, he had a big chance to make a couple of nice plays on offense. Sadly he botched both of them, dropping the odds of him making the roster by a considerable margin.

The most egregious of these blunders came during the early part of the game. Chicago was driving deep in the Ravens red zone. Daniel fired a pass to Fowler in the end zone. Though the receiver had to lay out for it, the ball hit him squarely in the hands. He dropped it. On the next play, Daniel’s pass was tipped and intercepted. Not long after he dropped another.

The last thing a team needs is somebody they can’t rely on. Fowler is showing why he never quite managed to stick in Denver.
