Up:  Javon Wims

All the talk in training camp since it began was about Anthony Miller. The 2nd round pick from Memphis has been the center of attention in practice and for good reason. He’s been a headache to cover. At the same time, the euphoria around him has made people completely forget that the Bears drafted two receivers, not just one. That “other” one decided to remind us in Canton.

Javon Wims was a 7th round choice back in May for the Bears out of Georgia. Those who’ve followed him closely insist Chicago got a steal. His performance Thursday night reinforced such claims as he went off for seven catches totaling 89 yards. Several of his grabs were of the highlight variety, showcasing his big body and strong hands.

The future for this team at wide receiver looks bright.
