Sam Darnold finally signed his contract. So his era as future franchise quarterback can officially begin. Like every quarterback, he’ll only be as great as the pieces around him. The higher the talent of his weapons, the more damage he’ll do to defenses. Right now the New York Jets receiving corps is not terrible but they lack anybody that could be considered a gamechanger at this stage. That’s why drafting A.J. Brown makes a ton of sense. He’s one of those good mixes of decent size and athleticism. He’s a strong player both during and after the catch, making it hard for defensive backs to cover him.
