2019 NFL Mock Draft: Oakland Raiders Do the Unthinkable

23. Kansas City Chiefs

OLB. Florida State. Brian Burns . 23. player. 124.

There is a great deal of confidence in the Kansas City Chiefs for their young offense led by Patrick Mahomes. Along that same line, the opposite is true of the defense. They just loss All-Pro corner Marcus Peters to trade and the biggest concern lay with their pass rush which did not carry enough weight last season.

Justin Houston is their only reliable piece and he hasn’t cracked double digits since 2014. Dee Ford will be a free agent in 2019 as well. Drafting Brian Burns is a necessity, and also a good choice. The Florida State defensive end can make the switch to linebacker thanks to his athletic chops and quickness. He’s still learning as a rusher but has an elite capability if coached right.
