20. New York Giants

player. 31. . LB. Notre Dame. Te'Von Coney . 20

Switch to a 3-4 defense demands a different sort of linebacker for the New York Giants. One of the first requirements is being able to play downhill, both against the run and as a blitzer. These are two qualities Te’Von Coney showed to have in abundance at Notre Dame. He had 11.5 tackles for loss and three sacks last season for Notre Dame. He has good size, is well-built and shows a capability for taking on blocks without getting consumed by offensive linemen. He’ll bring a physical edge to the Giants front seven and create needed versatility for their blitz package as James Bettcher continues to form the unit he wants.
