The Carolina Panthers know that their hopes of reaching another Super Bowl rest on how much more they can get out of Cam Newton. For that, they must ensure he is adequately protected. History shows that his playing style demands an offensive line that can hold their ground against any pass rush because of his nature for holding the ball looking for the big play.

They haven’t done the best job of this lately, trying to skate by veterans. They need another fixture up front they can build around. That’s why they trade up for Greg Little. Big and strong to open running lanes and athletic enough to play either the left or right side.
