Ezekiel Ansah will play out his franchise tag contract in 2018. While not a huge surprise, it does put added pressure on the Detroit Lions. If they can’t sign him to a new deal before next March, they’ll either have to franchise him again or let him hit free agency. Neither is the ideal scenario. Either way, it’s apparent they need more depth on the edge. Zach Allen made not be pretty to look at but the guy is a grinder and a powerhouse. Don’t be fooled by the lower sack numbers. This guy spends a lot of time in the opposing backfield wreaking havoc.
