Roy Robertson-Harris starts and breaks out with six sacks

One of the young men who quietly improved in 2017 was Roy Robertson-Harris. He was asked to shift from outside linebacker to defensive end and took to it quite well. In a limited role, he had two sacks on the season, splitting time with Mitch Unrein and Jonathan Bullard. Now the starting job is up for grabs. Not only is he a favorite to win it, but he’ll end up putting those extra snaps to good use as he becomes a more prominent factor in the pass rush. Something the Bears need.

Roquan Smith and Nick Kwiatkoski are starting by the end of the season

Danny Trevathan was slated to be the main man at inside linebacker for the Bears this year. With each passing day, his once iron grip on that job is rusting away. The 28-year old hasn’t participated in a camp practice yet, nursing an injured hamstring. Meanwhile, Nick Kwiatkoski has performed far above expectations, leading to the belief he could steal a starting job. While that means Roquan Smith will likely be on the bench to start the season, don’t be surprised when it’s Trevathan who ends up there come December.
