The Chicago Bears have begun training camp and already the long-term outlook for this team in 2018 is beginning to shift. Often in unexpected ways.

This has led to an improvement in clarity as to what may happen in the coming months, good or bad. One thing is sure, there’s plenty of chances for the unexpected to occur. That’s what this list will be about. Below will be six bold predictions, each of them fed by the ongoing buzz coming out of camp. It’s rather amazing how much there’s been already, some of it even the Bears themselves weren’t prepared for.

That is what makes it fun. So let’s start out with a couple shots at what will happen with this new offense being installed.

Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen combine for 25 touchdowns

The quarterback may be the focus of this new Bears offense under Matt Nagy, but the engine that drives the machine is going to be their running game. Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen are both studs who serve valuable roles in the system. Howard is the grinding runner who’s going to see plenty of action at the goal line. Cohen is a big-play threat who can score every time he touches the ball. With this new scheme to help set them free, they will be spending more time in the end zone this year.

Anthony Miller leads all rookies in receptions

He may be a rookie, but don’t tell Anthony Miller he’s not ready for the NFL. The 2nd round pick has looked like a professional from the moment he stepped on the field at training camp. His route running, quickness, and strong hands have made him a headache for even the best cornerbacks on the Bears roster. It seems like he always has a step on guys. It won’t be long before Mitch Trubisky catches on to this and feeds him the ball underneath in bunches. He may not lead rookies in yards or TDs, but he’ll definitely catch more passes.
