3 players to watch

Ryan Nall (RB)

An undrafted free agent out of Oregon State, Nall has had a solid camp thus far. He’s shown good vision, decisiveness and cutting ability for somebody 6’2. There is definite value there as a pure running back. If he can carry that success into games, it will make the #3 spot on the depth chart even more interesting to watch. Perhaps it might even force the Bears to get creative and give him the traditional fullback slot.

Rashaad Coward (OT)

One of the more interesting maneuvers made by the team this year was shifting defensive tackle Rashaad Coward to offensive tackle. They’ve had success with something like this before and he has the physical traits to make it work. He should see lots of playing time in this game. Given the Bears’ questionable depth at tackle, Coward will be able to show how he’s coming along.

Kevin Toliver (CB)

Another undrafted free agent who has flashed a bit in camp. Toliver comes out of LSU where many thought he would be drafted but for various reasons slipped through the cracks. He’s got size, athleticism and plays with plenty of confidence. Talent isn’t what’s holding him back. It’s consistency. With the bottom of the cornerback depth chart far from decided, he can make a big first impression with a good performance.
