Houston Texans vs New England Patriots

Tom Brady and the Patriots came up just short of yet another Super Bowl victory. After chatter about the state of the team through the offseason, it seems the gang is still intact and of course aiming to get back to the Super Bowl once again.

Tom Brady will be without a few familiar faces as Danny Amendola is now in Miami and Julian Edelman is facing a four game suspension. Regardless, Brady and Bill Belichick seem to never be behind on the process no matter how many challenges they’re given.

The Patriots come in with a stable at the running back position featuring Jeremy Hill, James White and first round pick Sony Michel. In a game against one of the best defenses in the NFL, Brady will need his running backs to do their part as a healthy J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney will be looking to prove their worth once again.

Deshaun Watson will also be trying to prove his worth as well. After a horrific knee injury in practice, Watson seems to be back on pace to put the NFL back in awe again. With weapons DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller, Watson will walk back into a familiar room and be able to pick up where he left off last year. For Bill O’Brien this game will always be a big one against his former boss. Seemingly on the hot seat for the last couple of years, this is the season (and the game) that could help cool off that seat significantly.

More so than anything, the matchup between the Texans and Patriots should be one the more fun games to watch week one. It could be a high scoring affair or a grueling battle of wit and strategy.
