NFL Pro Bowl: First-Timer Projections For All 32 Teams
By Erik Lambert
Atlanta Falcons
When people talk about the Atlanta Falcons linebackers, the name that always comes up first is Deon Jones for obvious reasons. He’s a Pro Bowler already and fast becoming one of the most electric players at his position in the NFL. Conversely, that’s made it difficult to notice De’Vondre Campbell who’s flanked him the past two years. The former 4th round pick was modest as rookie, but he took a big step forward in his development last year.
He finished with 92 tackles, two sacks and four passes defended. His long 6’4 frame and surprising athleticism made for a difficult matchup that offenses couldn’t figure out. As his experience continues to grow and his familiarity with the defensive system reaches the critical third year, everything is in place for him to have a career-best season. He could get a huge assist if that defensive front delivers as advertised.
