NFL Pro Bowl: First-Timer Projections For All 32 Teams

Los Angeles Chargers
It was a bit of a shock that teams shied away from Desmond King like they did. Sure he wasn’t the fastest or biggest defensive back in the draft last year, but he was obviously a guy who knew how to make plays. Despite that, he still ended up falling to the 5th round and it may end up being the Los Angeles Chargers who reap the rewards. King has fast become their version of Tyrann Mathieu, someone who shifts between safety and corner depending on the situation.
This has allowed him more freedom and as a result to use his exceptional instincts. As a rookie, he delivered four sacks, deflected five passes and intercepted another for a touchdown. With further reinforcements coming on the back end in Derwin James, King could be allowed even more free reign. If that pass rush continues to deliver like it has, there’s a chance he’ll start to create turnovers in bunches. Everybody knows how much the voters love those takeaways.
