NFL Pro Bowl: First-Timer Projections For All 32 Teams
By Erik Lambert
Kansas City Chiefs
Sammy Watkins has always flashed Pro Bowl ability. It’s just that things continue to get in his way. First, it was a changing offense and quarterback, then it was a rampant run of injuries. Last year felt like the first time his body didn’t betray him but he wasn’t the focal point of the offense. That’s why he decided to leave Los Angeles in hopes of joining a team where he might be able to get the most out of his still considerable receiving talents.
He probably couldn’t have picked a better situation in Kansas City. Not only is he working with a proven mastermind like Andy Reid, but he’s also inheriting a quarterback who may fit him better than any he’s ever had. Patrick Mahomes is a gunslinger. His true talent is being able to attack down the field. The trademark of Watkins game is the ability to gash them vertically. With teams so focused on Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, Watkins may finally be in a position to explode.
