Stock Down:  Marcus Cooper

The Bears are set with their top three slot at cornerback. Kyle Fuller and Prince Amukamara will be on the boundaries while Bryce Callahan is expected to man the nickel position. After that, it becomes a real scramble to see who will fill the remain spots. Sherrick McManis should be considered a lock due to his special teams value. That leaves two other openings at most. This has to make Marcus Cooper nervous, especially after how his camp has started.

Being relegated to the second and third teams and getting burned by guys like Tanner Gentry for a touchdown? Not the best way to endear yourself to the coaching staff. Especially with a young undrafted free agent like Kevin Toliver make some early noise with three interceptions in the first two practices. Cooper only returned on a one-year deal, so it’s not like the Bears have any financial incentive to keep him. On the contrary, if the dirt cheap Toliver outshines him they won’t hesitate to cut the cord.
