Clay Matthews sounded somewhat annoyed about the state of the Green Bay Packers defense when asked a few weeks ago. Why? It seems he feels the team didn’t do enough to bolster the edge rush position. Outside of him and Nick Perry, there isn’t a lot that they can lean on. It’s part of why they consistently underachieve on defense. Finally his wish is granted with the arrival of Josh Allen. Despite not being a full-time pass rusher, he flashed loads of potential at Kentucky. He’s got that mix of explosion, length, quickness and athleticism teams always covet from 3-4 outside linebackers. Give him enough time to learn the ropes and he’ll be someone who can quarterback hunt with the best.
