There’s no beating around the bush. The Bears pass rush is in trouble. Leonard Floyd is their only proven commodity going into 2018 and he’s had trouble staying healthy. Aaron Lynch? Kylie Fitts? Isaiah Irving? None of these guys are proven and the likelihood any of them will emerge to become high-end starters is remote. That means edge rusher is a top priority for this team when the clock starts. Montez Sweat had some maturity issues early in his college career that resulted in his dismissal to junior college for a time. He seems to have learned his lesson and broken out with 10.5 sacks last season. He’s got a frightening mix of length, explosion, athleticism and strong hands that could make him an ideal 3-4 linebacker.
