Philadelphia has a chance to repeat as Super Bowl champions, and with a healthy Carson Wentz, that chance grows even more.

General manager Howie Roseman set the NFL up with the next model to win a Super Bowl, and that’s drafting a franchise quarterback early and surrounding him with talent while you can afford it. After getting Alshon Jeffrey to join a solid group of Zach Ertz, Trey Burton, Nelson Agholor, and Torrey Smith, the Eagles had all they needed to win.

Now with Burton and Smith gone, Philadelphia had to restock behind Ertz, Jeffrey, and Agholor. After trading out of the first round to acquire more picks they traded past the Cowboys in their home to draft Dallas Goedert.

A big tight end to pair with Ertz, Goedert is coming off back to back 1,000-yard seasons for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. He’ll be a jack of all trades in Philadelphia and play the role of Burton as the number two tight end.

Signing Mike Wallace and Haloti Ngata was nothing to sneeze at, but Goedert projects to be a major piece of the Eagles offense down the road.
