New York Giants: Five greatest quarterbacks in franchise history

Phil Simms (1979-1993, 164 Games)

Phil Simms is obviously very high on this list, as he’s the second-longest tenured quarterback in Giants history. He played just three more games than Charlie Conerly at #5, though he amassed 13, 974 more passing yards.

On top of his impressive passing yardage total, he has a solid 199-175 TD-INT ratio. The difference between Simms and Kerry Collins isn’t the yardage total, Collins would’ve likely surpassed Simms had he played for NY longer than just a few years. The difference is in the jewelry case, as Simms has two Super Bowl rings from the 1986 and 1990 seasons.

Simms need not much more explanation for his second place finish, as he has the numbers, the rings and he did it for well over a decade. He falls just short of one other quarterback…
