#1:  Steve McMichael (Green Bay Packers)

What those other guys did was difficult to watch. What Steve McMichael did at the end of his career was a downright tragedy. After emulating what it means to be a Bear for so long and etching his place in team history, he corrupted it to a degree when he chose to sign with the hated Green Bay Packers.

He didn’t dance around the subject whenever asked. The reason he signed with the Packers was money. He was trying to get one last payday before calling it a career. Even so, it’s hard to accept such an excuse after he embraced one of the hottest periods of the rivalry in the 1980s. A period when the two teams genuinely hated each other.

It really was viewed as if he had signed with the enemy. A two-time Pro Bowler who had over 90 sacks and won a Super Bowl in a Bears uniform corrupted his legacy in green and gold. Overdramatic? Maybe, but that didn’t make it any less painful to watch.
