1. Josh Rosen, QB

The Cardinals were understandably thrilled when the Oakland Raiders were willing to trade with them to get the rights to pick UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen.

Rosen’s college tape was phenomenal from a pure passing standpoint. He has a great understanding of the mechanics and nuance of the game, and among the quarterbacks selected in the 2018 NFL Draft, he looked the most NFL-ready.

The Cardinals are likely going to give Sam Bradford every opportunity to be the starter, but we’ve seen how that story goes before.

Rosen is ready to play in the NFL even with the expectation that mistakes will happen. He’s such a smart young man with the ability to make every throw and make players around him better.

Though Rosen isn’t the most mobile quarterback, he’s able to make throws on the run when needed and he gives the Cardinals an ace in the hole at the quarterback position.

The sooner he gets on the field, the better for this team. Once he gets out there, he isn’t likely to be replaced. I think Rosen is the Cardinals’ number one breakout candidate.
