You can’t talk about the best Chicago sports teams without mentioning the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. The famous 72-10 Bulls is arguably the greatest team ever assembled, featuring 3 Hall of Famers in Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, & Dennis Rodman, led by Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson.

Unable to reach the Conference Finals the two years prior, the Bulls went into the 95-96 season with big expectations. Michael Jordan returned to the team after trying his luck at professional baseball, and the Bulls added Dennis Rodman to the roster. He’d go on to average almost 15 rebounds per game that year in 32.6 mpg for the Bulls.

The Bulls would go on to start the season with a 37 home game winning streak in route to becoming the first team in NBA history to win 70 regular season games. To this day they are the only 70-win team to also win the NBA Championship in the same season, and the 33 road wins they produced that year still ranks as 2nd best in league history.

Michael Jordan went on to lead the league in scoring that season averaging 30.4 ppg on nearly 50% shooting, as the Bulls captured the top seed in the East and finished with the best record in the NBA. The Bulls would only lose three games in the postseason that year in route to their 4th NBA Championship in six years and a final combined record of 87-13, which is still the best finish ever in NBA history.
