Chicago sports history sits up there among the absolute best with any other city. It’s a legacy that spans almost a century and many different leagues.

One of the most interesting debates that have gone on for years and years is out of all the great teams that have come and gone in this town, which was the absolute best of the best? Whos that one team to rule them all? Make no mistake there are plenty of qualified candidates and this isn’t nearly as easy a question to answer as one might think.

It was definitely one I wanted to tackle though. I’ve written for NFL Mocks for years. By now people are well aware I’m a lifetime Bears fan. However, my expertise lay squarely there. If I was going to get answers in regards to the bigger question of who was the best sports team in Chicago history, experts on those other franchises would have to be consulted.

That is what this article reflects. After some long discussions experts from other FanSided sites representing the Bulls, Blackhawks, Cubs and White Sox lent their voices to the debate until a final top 10 was agreed upon. While it’s a list that is almost guaranteed to create fierce arguments among fans, one thing is for sure.

It will be a glorious walk down memory lane, reminding everyone about how good this city has had it in the sports world compared to others. Think you can pick who #1 will be? Get ready to find out.
