Seattle Seahawks: Top five breakout player candidates
Nick Vannett, TE
With Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson in the lineup, snaps were hard to come by for the former third-round pick out of Ohio State.
Nick Vannett has excellent size and athleticism but through two years of his NFL career has just 15 receptions and one touchdown.
The Seahawks were determined to get him on the field, however, and he ended up playing 26 percent of the offensive snaps last season and nearly 50 percent of the special teams snaps.
Vannett’s talent is evident, and this year will be his first opportunity to let that talent morph into actual NFL production.
He couldn’t ask for a better quarterback to get him the ball in Russell Wilson, who loves getting the ball to his tight ends.
Vannett should be in line for a big year in 2018 statistically.
