The Los Angeles Rams have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL.

If they can get some ‘breakout’ seasons from draft picks or players that have big potential, they will be vaulted from NFC contender to perhaps the team to beat.

Here are their top three breakout player candidates in 2018…

1.  Tyler Higbee/Gerald Everett, TE

Whether it’s 2016 fourth-round pick Tyler Higbee or 2017 second-round pick Gerald Everett, the Rams are bound to have a tight end break out in a big way in the 2018 season.

Perhaps both will.

Higbee caught 25 passes for 295 yards and a touchdown last season for the high-powered Rams offense, while the rookie Everett caught 16 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns.

The Rams have added a more consistent deep threat at wide receiver in Brandin Cooks, and in combination with the other receivers on this team, Higbee and Everett have really no choice but to excel.

Both players are extremely athletic pass catchers, but the Rams obviously have invested quite a bit in Everett as a second rounder that most people feel he’s the likelier of the two to have a ‘breakout’ campaign.

The ideal scenario for the Rams is that both players catch at least 30 balls with Everett leading the position in catches and touchdowns.
