The Chicago Bears did a lot of good things in the 2018 offseason from a pure football perspective. It seems fantasy owners should also be impressed.

For several years the Bears have been a wasteland when it comes to fantasy players. Aside from a brief spurt in 2013 when Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, and Matt Forte were at their peaks this organization is never reliable at producing good options for any kind of league. Aside from the defenses of course. It seems as though things might be changing.

Jordan Howard is already established as a 1,000-yard rusher who is reliable in the red zone. Tarik Cohen emerged as a rookie that can provide at least one big play every week. Now these two are in the hands of Matt Nagy, the same man who orchestrated the #5 overall offense in 2017 with the Kansas City Chiefs. Not only will they be better, but so will their quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

He might be the most interesting sleeper option in fantasy leagues this year. Someone that can be had for cheap but may end up becoming a full-time starter if things go as hoped. One of the reasons for that is new addition, Allen Robinson. The man Pro Football Focus sees as the best fantasy addition of the entire offseason.

Allen Robinson can be a true difference-maker on the field and in leagues

Robinson was a star in 2015, posting 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns. It was the first glimpse of what he could potentially be as a receiver. The feeling is if his knee is healthy, that’s his ceiling and gives the Bears the sort of playmaker they haven’t had since Marshall. Beyond that, his floor appears to be around the 2015 Jeffery level. Still good if not spectacular. That offers plenty of reason for league owners to scoop him up.

"“If 2016 was Robinson’s floor (WR27) and 2015 was his ceiling (WR6), his current ADP as the WR16 is effectively splitting the difference. And while there are myriad concerns, from his health to his dropoff in production across the board, it’s the ceiling that is so intriguing. Taking over as the No. 1 option for a budding Mitchell Trubisky and still just 24 years old himself, Robinson has already proven capable of leading the league in both touchdown catches (14) and deep receiving yards (672).”"

If nothing else it reinforces that the Bears receiving corps should be far better in 2018 than it was last year. Never mind other additions like Taylor Gabriel and Anthony Miller. Not to mention the prospect of Kevin White actually staying healthy. This group is young, hungry and fast. All Trubisky has to do is get the ball near them and they should do the rest.
