2018 NFL Power Rankings: Biggest QB Teases For All 32 Teams
By Erik Lambert
The Carolina Panthers felt they had something when they selected Kerry Collins in their first-ever draft in 1995. He had a ton of success at Penn State and was ready for the NFL. Their expectations seemed validated a year later. Collins made the Pro Bowl while guiding the Panthers to the NFC championship game in just their second year of existence.
People felt like the team would be a contender for years to come. Instead Collins threw 21 interceptions the next season and went just 2-9 in 1998. He was off the team after that. Collins ended up leading a journeyman career, continuing to show the same flashes he did in Carolina but never fulfilling that promise.
