2018 NFL Power Rankings: Biggest QB Teases For All 32 Teams
By Erik Lambert
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers really thought they had something when they took Josh Freeman 17th overall in the 2009 draft. He seems to have all the tools: a big body, decent mobility, a live arm and could execute at a high level. For a time he almost proved them right. In 2010, Freeman had an outstanding year. He led the team to a 10-6 record, throwing 25 touchdowns to just six interceptions and leading five comebacks in the 4th quarter.
Then? Nothing. Freeman nosedived in 2011 with 22 interceptions and though he threw for over 4,000 yards the next year it was clear whatever magic he’d had was gone. He became a journeyman backup and seemed to get worse with each passing year until he was out of the league and forced to head north of the border to Canada to keep playing.
